Reception, Accommodation, Care

You may be sent directly via your doctor, or maybe you call personally our department for the tending to international patients. Usually we can accommodate patients within one week. Emergencies are taken on through the emergency dempartment and later transferred to the wards of the heart center. The wards offer comfortable single to triple rooms with shower and toilet, TV, telephone and modern call systems with intercom facility and built-in radio. Accommodation of relatives in the rooms is possible.

There are no fixed visiting hours, but we make sure our patientes get enough rest. A mobile monitoring of your heart function makes it possible for you to move freely in the hospital and for exemple to talk with your family in the cafeteria , to look at the art exhibitions in the hospital or to enjoy a little rest in our "room of silence". In addition to our employees at the infirmaries pastors in our house stand ready for our patients at all times and look forward to hearing from you.

The "two-man rule" in the heart center creates the conditions for the optimal treatment of our patients. Thus, for example, diagnostic coronary angiographies are jointly evaluated by both surgeons and cardiologists in order to decide on the most suitable treatment for each patient. So decisions can be implemented quickly and without unnecessary and onerous double diagnosis and paths.

The "two-man rule" also applies to our bedside visits. These are carried out by your local nurses and the ward doctor. Both work in shifts, which means continuity over the day and the entire duration of treatment for our patients. Both professional groups discuss their treatment goals with the patient and provide for a comprehensive and holistic care.

In addition to medical therapy, nursing care takes up a large part of the treatment and for you. Nurses support to the points where you need help (eg with personal hygiene). Consulting and training of the patient for the restoration of independence or in dealing with a new situation are also part of the nursing fields of action. Yet also just "to be there" for the patients and having a little time for them is part of our idea of diaconal charity and care.
